Electrical Connection Motorcycle Driving Lights Product Review First of all, the damn things took *forever* to get. The only reason I kept my order in was that Lewis at EC was very straightforward throughout the whole process, and took responsibility for the non-delivery. Of course, it didn't get the lights into my hands any quicker, but his honesty was appreciated. He also threw in a set of H4 adapter rings for my new bulbs, which was nice, though unexpected. Installation was fairly easy, though it did take a while. The kit itself is very complete: it comes with more than enough wiring to string these up something ugly on a Goldwing, a decent relay, brackets, lights, some extra electrical clips and connections, and a nice push switch (with LED indicators). With lister Mike Schwab's help (and fantastic hospitality) I also rigged a switch for power to the lights that alternates through the running light and high-beam circuits, so the lights can be set to work independently of the high/low status of the headlights, or come on and off with the high-beams. We ran a fused circuit up to the front of the bike (for future electrics), and ran power for the lights and (new) horns off of that. All in all, the installation took the better part of an afternoon and early evening, but is all tucked away nicely and works very well. I will post pics publically at some point in the future (I'm working on documenting the work that I've done to the bike), but will email them to any interested parties. First riding impressions: the bulbs *greatly* augment the stock light pattern. The dark spots missed by the primary beams, as well as the area directly in front of the bike are filled in very nicely. Perhaps the best part about the lights is the tremendous increase (I've felt) in cornering confidence at night, especially on 180+ degree on/off ramps and long sweepers. No more beaming-off-into-the-night and trying to guess at road conditions further along the curve, the driving lights illuminate a huge section on either side of the primary headlights. With the high-beams (running Philips VisionPlus 55/60s) and driving lights on, I feel like I'm riding behind (insert primary deity of choice here)'s own Mag-Lite. Electrical Connection's order fulfillment leaves quite a bit to be desired, but their product quality is top notch. No affiliation.
