will england :: motorcycle notes and tipsJim, I did a very scientific experiment. I have a V1 too. So I lined them up side by side on the dash of my Justy which hauls my butt to work most of the time. My work ride is 47 miles one way and I know where every cop sits and they all blast radar down the road. With the V1 and 8500 together they both gave the same warning at the same time all the time. Yep all the time. Now they do do it in different ways and that made my decision. While in WV a few weeks ago, riding around the I68 area of Morgantown, I got a signal for Mr Leo ahead 8500 and V1 at the same time....kept going kept getting the signal. Pass the fine gentleman up while going up the grade he was facing the other lanes shooting them ok..but then the 8500 keeps going off as we pass the V1 switches to 2 bogies...ahhh just singal bounce no big deal...well it was the was another of WV most underpaid finest shooting my lanes from behind a pillar....8500 picked it up, but the v1 pointed at it and counted it...made somewhat of a believer. The reasons I kept the V1...the counted and arrows were a part of it, but the remotes offered more incentive. I have the audio and visual addons so I can bury the v1 in the fairing...yes the 8500 offers the same and a bit cheaper but the biulding into the system was more difficult and I felt would be less bulletproof. So the 8500 is an excellent choice almost all the time, and if I had not gotten the v1 I would have most likey stayed with the 8500 and not want the v1 way but having a choice and seeing I could get a gps in exchange...well I went that way... I will say it now the 8500 is an good as the v1 at detection. period. I did over 4k miles in my car with both, there was little difference. The v1 is more but it has more whistles, at 289 the 8500 is no bargin either. No problems suggesting the 8500 for straight up install. ===== George Fetsko Happy to be alive.
