De-flopping a SAENG winglet Ok - called SAENG this afternoon and found out that the winglet just wasn't adjusted right. The winglet should be at about a 15 degree angle forward, and have a slight outward bow to the plexiglass. TO achive this, loosen the two phillips head screws at the top of the mount and push the winglet forward till it's leaning about 15 degrees past vertical, in front of the windscreen. Now, tighten the screws back up on each side. To get the bow in the plexi, just loosen the bottom mounting screws and move the mounting arms one or two clicks inward. You may have to gently push the plexi outwards to get it to bow in the correct direction. Once you have the degree of bow you want, tighten up the mounting screws and you're done! I didn't get a chance to test it at full speed, but at up to 45MPH the fix worked perfectly. The wing stayed right at vertical, with no flopping. My helmet was basically in a pocket of calm air, while I can still look over the screen and winglet. So, two enthusiastic thumbs up for the tech support at SAENG - they've made a good product and stand behind it, even for 2nd owners! Highly recommended! Will [editors note: the fix only lasted a couple of days. Apparantly, the ball joints had worn out on it, and needed to be replaced.]
