AGM Sealed Battery Source Just wanted to share with the group my recent success with a replacement maintenance free battery. (If you want to boycott YUASA, here's a way to do it.) The company is Westco and they make Absorbed Glass Matt batteries. I ordered it directly from them and it comes ready to drop into your bike and go. The model is #12V20L and is 18ah. I paid $89.95 including shipping. In AGM batteries the electrolite is fully absorbed, so there is no standing liquid at all. They are supposedly highly resistant to damage by vibration as well. My bike has never turned over so easily--starts right up even at sub-freezing temps. My dash mounted voltmeter reads a solid 14 volts at anything above 1500 rpm even with my Gerbing's gloves and jacket liner on full blast--so far so good. They have a web site (easily found by searching for "Westco") but they don't list an application for the Concours. I called them, and based on size and configuration we came up with the battery I have. It's a little bit shorter than the stock YUASA unit, so I moved the rubber bumper in the bottom of the tool tray (that holds the battery in place) to the next lower step in the tray--a la Guy's article in the Concourier (don't know which issue).
