HID Light Review This is going to be a report on HID lights.. If you are not interested- hit your delete key now.. I like to travel at late night and/or early morning because of the heat in this S.W. desert..I had problems with seeing the road when on low beams..I have been using a 100/80 watt bulb for 3 years now, and even with the "eye" 130/90 watt, I still had problems... No problem seeing using the high beams.. Those of you who travel at night know that the interstates are one truck after another...so the high beams are useless and I was always out running low beams.. Dangerous- you bet!!! All the reports on lighting said PIAA's.. Slowly reports started to say, They aren't that good- YMMV... I have been looking for some kind of light that would enhance the low beams for 2 years now and I found a light that works for me.. HID's.. Yes, they are expensive.. But not so expensive as hitting something in the road because you didn't see it.. Been there?? Or even close?? I have.. When I went to the National, I left Henderson at 2:30 am and I saw things in this light sucking desert that I never saw before.. Coyotes checking out road kill way up the road, jackrabbits wanting to be roadkill.. Eyes a mile down the road.. I am at the age that very few things impress me.. These lights impress me.. And they use 35 watts each.... 1/2 the power of the "eye".. 4 times the light....With the "eye" and both HID lights, I can see everything......Around Bends, Over hills, over small buildings.....Almost!!! About the Lights: I bought mine at the company listed below.. Phoenix Micro-Lite 222 North Sepulveda Blvd. El Segundo, California 90245 Phone: (310) 364-5219 FAX: (310) 364-5201 http://www.galaxymall.com Email superlite@Earthlink.net The owner is Bob. The model I bought is PRODUCT 6147 2 inch x 5 inch Rectangular Auxiliary Light Full HID capability Polished Painted and stainless trim case Adjustable shock mount Dimensions 5 1/4 wide x 2 1/4 high x 4 1/2 deep Ballast with connector and mounting attachments . These lights are well constructed and sturdy.. I set one up to be on with low beams and adjusted it down until the truckers quit flashing me and there is a lot more light then the low beam puts out..and the other comes on when the high beam comes on and it is daylight out there..... There are other light models and I'm sure one can be found to suit your needs.. I receive nothing for this advertisement..But I did receive prompt service.. Email Bob for costs and info.. Skip Holton
