logowill england :: Differences between operating systems

(Originally from George Dau in Oct. 1999 via Usenet)

Let me compare the three OS's I work with most, from an Admin/support
point of view.

First we have our pet favourite OS of choice: Linux.
When it crashes it wedges solid. Shit, I have to come in and reset it,
then reset stuff on other boxes that relied on this. I'll be here all
night.

Second we have our pet devil-cursed OS forced on us by managent: NT.
When it crashes it wedges solid. Shit, I have to come in and reset it,
then reset stuff on other boxes that relied on this. I'll be here all
night.

Third, the most relied on OS here: Solaris.
When it crashes it wedges solid. Shit, I have to come in and reset it,
then reset stuff on other boxes that relied on this. I'll be here all
night.

I hope the above comparison clearly shows how vastly different these
operating systems are, and make it much easier for people to choose
the right one for their specific, unique, environment.
